What a scenery! Schönbrunn Castle in golden light; the Gloriette coloured in streaks of blue and red; and thousands of people moving around in the castle park, occupying the lawns to the last square inch! Mild temperature in the mid 20s and the sky is patched with clouds coloured in the fading daylight.
Ricardo Dudamel and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra are performing the annual Summernight Concert.
This year’s summernight concert is dedicated to water melodies and even up here at the Gloriette it sounds nice (though a lot of talking co-„listeners“ interfere a bit with the music). They famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra perform this concert once every year. You can find details here.
State Opera Ballet goes wet.
And now the Vienna State Opera’s Ballet just walking by on their way to their first ballet IN the water. Wow, the ballerinas look quite cute in their white dresses, dipped in colourful lights while the search beams form a cupola of light above them. What a performance then in the water! It looks so different from the ballets you see with other concerts. I am again amazed when I see that somebody – or in this case a whole organisation – tries something new, something different. And then succeeds in doing so! Thank you Gregor Hatala, thank you State Opera Ballet and thank all of you behind the scenes who made this possible in all its colour and beauty 🙂
Cool to be here tonight 🙂
